Myself evaluation of the academic year. 18:11

Myself evaluation of the current academic year...Well, actually this particular subject have a lot of differents points of view, it's really difficult for us, students, teenegers and even adult go trought this career, trought the university in general, because we have this messy life, with all this hormones in our body asking for revolution or at least for some relax and spare time of us, for learning, because this is the time to ruin things...to screw up, because this is the only way to learn...by living your own experiences, so do an evaluation about my academic year...it's easy, have a lot of branchs, and particulary situations that affect my academic life.
To begin with this term has been the best one in my university life, the last year, the first term was a mess! because we don't know...a thing, but really.. we are a bit lost in this new world, and we have to have the conviction of what we really want (that must be.. be a good veterinary) if we are not..it's so easy to give up, because in the school, everything it's so easy, we were like protected by our parents, by the school's owners, and now...surprise, we are alone, no one will do the things for you, no one will ask you how are doing, and you realize that you have to study to have a 4, yes...you almost and do a party when you have a miserable 4, one good thing is that you learn from this and then it's easier for you to learn.
So with all this experiencience from the last year, now... i knew how to do the things, i had to organize myself, I tried to study everyday, and I didn't let external thing influence me, because I lived that...the last year and the only thing that you learn, is that you can't deal with everything and in a moment you'll explote and everything will be ruin, so this term was so good, also because I knew who my friends are, and we have such a good time together, and academically i'm better now.
The university experience has more good things than bad things, with my friends we always talk about...if we will have childrens, we HAVE the obligation of...tell them our historys, is not all about study, we are young and hopefully we will have a lot of time to do whatever we want, to go to different places, and of cuorse have our own veterinary, the good part is that the university opens a lot of new doors, and you have to have the ability to choose the right ones, and in that way you have to build your life, when you heard people saying that this is the best time of our lifes... i think that they are right.

challenges in my discipline 16:47

the challenges in my discipline, veterinary, are huge.. because in our country veterinary it's so poor, people usually don't appreciate this career, and always says like..."ohh..you are studying veterinary.. that's sweet", and they don't know that we have to study tons and tons of subjects, it's the same that human medicine...but even worse because we have to known everything about.. at least 4 species.
speaking about technology, here we have nothing...in comparision to USA, here when a bitch is pregnant, to see how many puppys she had inside, the veterinarys take X rays, and that it's so dangerous to the puppys, but here, no one will pay for an ultrasound scan, i think that... basically we have to find a way to change people's mind, because otherwise we can't improve our technology, if no one wants to pay... isn't business.
one of the most important things it's educate people about their pets... because we are almost the only country that have tons of homeless dogs living in the streets, and isn't just bad and unfair for them, it's also an hygiene problem, because they may have ticks, or any disease that can affect human healthy, and this is because people let their pets have puppys, and then they just throw them, i dont know how someone can do that, but that's why we have to educate people, because if we just keep staring, nothing will change and i think that we are in this career because we wanna make a change in the world.. at least contribute with something.

Smelling a potential lover. 16:19

Tamara Brown, 33, is a behavioural geneticist, Her company, GenePartner, offers a service for dating agencies assessing biological compatibility on the basis of DNA, the base it is one of the main factors in the immune system call HLA, the human leukocyte antigen, the theory is the more HLAs you have, the more different pathogens it can bind and instructs the immune system accordingly, so choosing a partner with different HLAs produces a child with a much broader immunity, and that's the final reason (in an animal perspective) of all the relationship, have childs better than the parents, stronger and with more posilibities to be a success, so you have to give them a sample of your saliva and they do the magic.. and surprise! you have your potential lover on the computer, of cuorse, this have nothing to do with love...i mean the real love, or to get on well with someone, this is just seeing in a sexual way, but the scientist says that this is so important to humans that this should be enough, something similar happends when you smell somebody... and you love that smell, it's because of the feromones, it's funny how the "animal instinct" affect us, you can't fight against nature, and this is a good prove of it.

Improving Faculty Facilities 15:53

i'm re writting this blog, well..i actually have a lot to write about this particular subject, good things.. and bad things, let's start with good things:
It's so great for me.. and for everyone have "green areas" with grass.. trees, this kind of thing allow us be in touch with nature, that have no prize, maybe we have a small faculty, and the resorts are limited, but being able to rest in the grass after a test...or maybe for lunch have no comparision.
"mundo granja" this is soo important for us! we are veterinary student, so we are dedicating our lives to animals, and have the posibility to be close to them, it's awesome because we have so many things to learn! and as a plus.. it's also funny because you see all this dogs playing, even fighting sometimes, certainly isn't something common in an university.
now.. bad things..i just have one complain, and it's about the "almost casino" because isn`t a real casino, it's something like a cafeteria, and they sell lunchs and it's so expensive and don't have a lot of alternatives, like in the faculty of agronomy, and when you have that scholarship to eat..you can't buy something to drink.. and also you have to pay more for the "menu", so i think that they should make an effort and try to get the license to be a real casino and reduce the price of the food.
another thing...but the faculty have no fault, it's about the restrooms...they are always so dirty, and it's because the people that use them are dirty...it's so disgusting, but the people that clean it...they do an excellent job.

My Favourite animal. 16:59

My favourite animal...it's a bit difficult for me to decide because I really love a lot of different animal, like the wildcat, hedgehog, and the wolf, but i just love them because I think that they are really beautiful, and know I have to write about an animal that I know...so i'm gonna write about the closer animal to wolfs, his descendant, his "pet" version, the Dog.
Now I have 9 dogs, i started with 4, then i founded a little female dog, I adopt her, and of cuorse she got pregnant and she gave birth 7 puppys, now my house it's a mess because they act like a real pack, so when someone unknown for them comes, they just bark all the time, and at the same time, some of them bites sometimes, specially the little ones and the mixed ones, and I know this could be terrible but sometimes it's funny too because they make plans, they have one alfa male, alfa female, and the submissives, we have more animals in my house like couples of peacock and with dogs it's a real bullying.
I know i just have been writting about my dogs, but that is the reason why I love them, they makes me happy when i come home, they always jump over me, they get in the car and of cuorse they never obey me, but they are always there...moving their tail, and it's so great because whatever happends you know that they will always love you, you just have to feed them, take them to the vet, give them love, and you have a excellent friend, in my case 9 friends, and i know that i have more friends, i have family, but they just have me and each other, so i know that i have to be with them always, and i would love if all the dogs in the world could have the possibility to live lifes like my dogs, and i'll fight for that as long as i can.

Where to go in Santiago!! 16:46

Well actually I don't live in Santiago but I know a few places that you'll love!

1. The Zoo!
well if you are an animal lover, you must go to the zoo, here you can visit more than 1.000 different animals, mammals, birds, amphians, reptiles, and the best thing is that it's in a hill!
you have to "climb" this hill, and sometimes you can feed animals (of cuorse with food that you buy in there, you can't feed them with your own food) and there is an elephant, an giraffe, lions and the last year 2 tigers were born in that zoo! that it's awesome, isn't it?
2. Providencia
i can't talk a lot of this place but what i know i sure love it!!
here you can find the most antique buildings in the city! you can go old fashioned cinemas, with a usher, just a few seats, just a few movies, rotary movies, and then you may go to have some coffe, or a drink, or eat something with your friends, if you like bohemian, this is definitly tour place!!
3. Bellavista
if you like dance, or partys, or distorcion you must go there, this is a kind of neighborhood, but have an amizing night life, you can go to VIP partys, of maybe go to a bar and have a couple of drink with a band playing live.
4. San Cristobal Hill
well this is a huge hill with a lot of parks, and a really beautiful sight, in the top there is the statue of the virgin, and a few years ago you was able to take a cable railway and go from one hill to another but now they are broken or something.
5. Santiago Downtown
here you can find anything you want, and i'm serious, if you are looking for something more academic you can find librarys, if you are looking for old buildings you can find the most antique church in Santiago, if you are looking for some "entertainment" there are a lot of cafes, also there are tons of places to eat something, fast food, or typical chilean dishes, in the downtown you can find the house of the goverment, but you have to beware because there are a lot of thiefs.

Death Penalty 17:56

In my point of view this is a really complicated subject, because we are talking about the lifes of this people, yes, they could be criminals, and probably the worst criminals out there, but even if you consider that I think it depends, if the guilty spend the rest of his life in jail maybe it's a better punishment than death, it's easy go and do the most horrible things and then just be murder, if the victims want revenge or whatever maybe a better choice for them it's the life sentence, even though this depends in a lot of things, maybe jail it's like reward them because they eat by free, they don't have to work, they don't have to pay the bills, like the rest of us, or maybe they could be really dangerous people and even be a risk to the other people that are in jail, maybe mad people, psychopath, but they argue an illnes and they just have a treatment for that, but if you think about it.. who sane people could do something that terrible how to deserve a death penalty?
according what i know of the countrys that have the death penalthy as a punishment, it's a bit out of control because who is able to testify if someone deserves to die? maybe it's the easy way, but i'm actually taking from outside, thanks god I've never been in such situation and i don't know what would I do or ask but for now i think that is the easy way, and it's so old fashioned, maybe we could find anothers way to punish.

The country I would like to visit 17:36

The country that i definitly would like to visit is England
Well, actually when I was a child I went to this country with my parents, but I had 6 years old so I can barely remember that experience, I don't really know why, but I LOVE everything about that country, the culture, the people, the lenguage, the monasteries, the buildings, the acent, i think that there are so many history, so many things happening there, you could say.."yeah but that happens in Europe" but I don't think so, i mean, 4 years ago I went to Italy, France and Spain and is not the same, every place have his special magic and I think the one that England have is the best, you can see it in the movies, or the bands that came from England, they are so special that you can't fight them.
I remember when I was there i was so shocked because of the sides in the car, the driver was on the other side, we stayed in the house of my father's friends, and was so great because they had childs of my age, and i was like a toy to them.
the places that I would love to visit again could be the palace of westminster, the river thames, Gales, crambridge, Bedford, York, Big Ben tower, and so many places that I really wanna visit, the last year i was thinking of going on a exchange to England, but it's so complicated because of the University, i can't just drop it and go, I have to think about it, but well, I hope that one day I could be able to back to that awesome country and hopefully now remember that.

Second Term 2009 18:20

well, the second term of the 2009 was a really bad term for me, i guess that was the worse ever, i was so tired because of the first term, I breakeup with my ex boyfriend (after almost 3 years together) my uncle died, my hedgehod died and i had to study soo much, that i really couldn't deal with all that, regrettably the friends that i used to have wasn't the right ones for that moment, normally people doesn't know you are you really feeling, or sometimes they think that you are overreacting, we don't know how hard things can be until we go through this kind of situations, the good thing is that i learned so much, now I know that as a friend you have to support them, you know the famous quote "what doesn`t kill you makes you stronger" i learned how to deal alone with my problems, i learned that nothing last forever, you always can get over it
speaking about the university, our classes were more difficult but funnier too, i knew my friends in a better way, in a closer way and that was great, i had more meetings with my ex classmates from the school and that was awesome, now we have every month a meeting, the second term of the 2009 was awful in a lot of ways but i think i have to extract the good things and learn, always learn.

Transantiago Before and After 17:52

I have to admit that i dont really know much about the transantiago and the pre-Transantiago system, because I live in Paine and when we had to go to santiago we went in the car, so i never used the pre-Transantiago system, but a few times i used the Transantiago but I didn't like it, always it's so full, smells, and it's dirty, the worse thing is that i'm a bit clumsy so i have to hold on tight otherwise I can probably fall and that would be so embarrasing.
one of the best thing of the transantiago is that thieves can`t steal the money because of the BIP system, i guess that there are more whereabouts, and i think i heard that transantiago produce less pollution, and for me that i go on my car, it's much more less stressful, i think that's all that I can say about transantiago, i know isn't much but..well, regards :D

welcome! 17:38

Hi dear classmates, well my name is Romina, i'm 19 years old, and with this blog i wanna show a bit more about me, i know we all know each other but sometimes we can`t talk as much as we want, so i think that this is a good way to meet each other, one thing that rules my life it's music, i really love music, and of course my pets, i have 9 dogs, 3 hedgehog and 2 peacock, we'll in touch!
